ODE TO LA HABRA … PART 1
Greetings to all who sit on the dais in air
This greeting is to the people, both here and out there.
It is with a light heart and much thought put to paper
That what I have to say,
Is best said now rather than later.
For the highlight of spring, the best of our city
People have come sharing smiles, and being quite witty.
For the Citrus Fair, proudly and humbly put on by the chamber
Has once again shown its grandeur and collected much favor.
For the crowds were amazing, the rides were so fun,
The vendors all creative, the food offerings perfectly YUM!.
Familes came from La Habra and many cities far and further,
To enjoy our favorite, the Chamber Citrus Fair, with ferver.
Our police, as always, kept all of us safe,
As they stood courageously and kept peace in its place.
We are thankful for our many workers, both city and volunteers,
They toiled constantly, they kept our fair grounds clean and clear.
The Citrus Fair brings huge crowds yearly, to have fun and explore
All the best of our city, our student talents, and much more.
It cannot be denied that our youth was well represented, indeed,
Their dedication to their animals, whether goat, sheep or steed,
Gave all who enjoyed their agricultural display,
They are our future in such a wonderful way.
Their opening ceremony of bubble blowing and patriotic display of the colors,
Their beautiful songs, their smiles, all shared with others,
The ever growing tradition of our students flying their drones into the sky,
Championing their e’sports, guiding their robots, scoring airborne soccer quite high,
All of these talents are inspired, honed and improved with care,
This is why we proudly share them yearly at our Chamber’s Citrus Fair!
So, in closing for now, we all owe our thanks and respect, as it is not the first,
To the hard working members of the La Habra Area Chamber of Commerce,
Who’s vision is uplifting for all our businesses,
Does go the credit, thanks, and much love,
For their diligence, support and years of experience.
Joinng the chamber is the best opportunity,
Supporting the chamber provides continued unity,
For our city, our youth, our businesses together,
The chamber strives each day to make La Habra life better.
